Manager, Cost and Budget Accounting

Physicians Mutual is seeking an experienced Manager for Cost and Budget Accounting to join our dynamic finance team under the general direction of the Director, FP&A Accounting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for corporate financial accounting, budgeting, expense analysis, and forecasting. They will provide management guidance and support to a staff engaged in these functions and lead the preparation of the Companyâ??s annual and quarterly budgets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assume responsibility for corporate financial accounting, budgeting, and expense analysis and forecasting.
• Provide management guidance and support to a team handling accounting, budgeting, and expense analysis.
• Research, develop, and establish unit costs in collaboration with Product Management and Corporate Actuarial Department.
• Apply established unit costs in pricing insurance products and financial forecasting.
• Lead the preparation of the Companyâ??s annual and quarterly budgets.

Qualifications:

• Bachelorâ??s degree in Accounting, Data Analytics or related field is required.
• 10+ yearsâ?? experience in Accounting, Cost and Budgeting, or Data Analytics field.
• 5 yearsâ?? experience in supervisory OR strong project management role.
• Extensive experience in leveraging Excel for robust data analysis and reporting.
• Extensive knowledge of Prism, Adaptive, and SCI (Strategic Cost Intelligence) and the ability to produce various financial reports.
• Working knowledge of Workday is plus.
