The Department of Biology at Creighton University invites applications for a Resident Assistant Professor specializing in physiology and vertebrate natural history. This is a one-year appointment with a 4-4 courseload that includes mammalian physiology lecture and lab, and vertebrate natural history lecture and lab. Prior teaching experience in these areas is required.

We seek individuals committed to being outstanding instructors within a primarily undergraduate-serving college. Departmental mentoring and institutional resources are available to foster the development of pedagogy.

Qualifications

  • A Ph.D. in Biology is required
  • Ability to foster student learning, development, and decision-making in support of their goals, success, wellness, and needs
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with a diversity of populations
  • Empathy and compassion for the experiences of others

  • Curriculum vitae
  • Statement of teaching philosophy
  • All undergraduate and graduate transcripts (scanned copies are acceptable during initial application process)
  • The names and contact information for two writers of letters of recommendation, who should be qualified to comment on the candidateâ??s teaching ability 

Candidates selected for initial interview will be asked to submit:

  • Original academic transcripts from all institutions of higher education attended (photocopies acceptable during initial application process)
  • One page statement describing candidate's potential contributions to Creighton's mission (https://www.creighton.edu/about/mission-history)
  • Three letters of recommendation, at least two of which should speak to the candidateâ??s teaching ability
