About this Opportunity:
As a Platform Engineer, you will support the health, performance, and evolution of our platform infrastructure. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in AWS, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and container platforms like ECS. Youll help shape the reliability, scalability, and security of the systems that support our engineering teams. Working closely with developers, architects, and senior engineers, youll contribute to automation, observability, and operational excellence across our platform. As we continue to evolve and live our Orion values, we are looking for someone to grow with us.

For External Candidates:
Candidates must work in-office at one of the following locations for at least 3 days per week: Omaha, NE; Berwyn, PA; Sacramento, CA; Hebron, KY; Chandler, AZ; or Lehi, UT.

In this role, youll get to:

Build, maintain, and monitor platform infrastructure, primarily on AWS, following best practices
Implement scalable IaC solutions using Terraform
Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions
Deploy and manage containerized services with Amazon ECS
Create and refine automation scripts and operational tools (Python, Bash)
Implement and tune observability stacks using tools like Datadog
Support high availability and incident response for platform services
Collaborate with security teams to ensure supported platforms meet compliance standards
Write clear documentation and promote platform adoption across engineering teams
Participate in Disaster Recovery Exercises
Apply cost optimization strategies while maintaining service levels and performance objectives
Participate in on call rotation responsibilities with an eye toward automated remediation and prevention
Attend team meetings and architectural reviews to influence infrastructure design

Were looking for talent who:

Has strong experience with AWS core services (VPC, IAM, EC2, ALB, S3)
Has proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and management
Has experience managing container-based applications on Amazon ECS
Has practical knowledge of CI/CD tools like Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins
Has solid scripting skills in Python and Bash
Understands cloud networking, load balancing, and IAM policies
Understands cloud security best practices
Has experience with monitoring/alerting using Datadog or similar tools
Has strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
Collaborates across teams and mentors junior engineers
Has experience with Git and GitHub workflows such as branching and pull request
Has a minimum of a high school diploma
Has a minimum of 3 years of experience
Obtains Orion Industry Certification
Owns and manages relationships with stakeholders directly and works effectively with people at all levels in an organization

Salary Range:

$83,076.00 - $127,179.00

The pay listed in this posting indicates the estimated pay at the time of this posting; however, may vary depending on geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
