Description

We are seeking an Intern within the Planning Services Department in our Omaha office for our 2025 Summer Internship Program with the opportunity to work into the school year. Our planning team focuses on residential and commercial development, assisting clients with defining a vision and the components needed to make it a reality.

The ideal Intern candidate will be a self-starter with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.  Additionally, this candidate will:

  • Gain exposure to the day-to-day workings of the Planning Department  
  • Receive hands-on learning experience through planning project work, job shadowing, and interaction with leadership

Required Qualifications: 

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited bachelor’s program for Community and Urban Planning, Landscape Architecture, Architectural Design, and/or Horticulture
  • Sophomore year required work completed in May 2025
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office 
  • Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • General understanding of engineering plans and documents
  • Ability to effectively work independently or with a team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Junior year required coursework completed in May 2025
  • Knowledge and experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Demonstrated experience in the engineering industry or related experience
