GRAIN ORIGINATOR - HEMINGFORD

Job Summary

Responsible for promoting and implementing grain origination, alternative grain marketing contracts, commodity brokerage, and grain marketing consulting. This role focuses on establishing grower relationships, securing grain contracts, and providing market insights to support producer success.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain relationships with grain producers and farmers
• Negotiate and secure grain purchase contracts
• Provide patrons with market insights, products, and support
• Promote/sell Risk Management services and ProAdvantage Program
• Organize and present producer meetings on grain marketing alternatives
• Build cross-divisional relationships to expand customer base
• Participate in safety culture initiatives and committee service
• Maintain professional image with company property and vehicles
• Serve on Legacy’s Safety Committee
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education, Certificates, & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) OR
• 1-4 years related experience/training OR
• Equivalent combination of education/experience
• Series 3 or the ability to obtain

• Market Knowledge: Deep understanding of grain markets, pricing mechanisms, and industry trends
• Negotiation Skills: Proven ability to secure contracts and build long-term grower relationships
• Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze market data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions
• Communication: Effective verbal/written skills for interactions with growers and team
• Problem-Solving: Ability to resolve issues related to grain quality, logistics, and suppliers
• Technical Proficiency: Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) or equivalent, email, and internet research. Experience with CRM software, commodity trading platforms, or market data systems is a plus.
