If you have a medical trauma background with a passion for donation and can make critical decisions the Clinical Service Coordinator may be a great opportunity for you! 

Responsibilities include working collaboratively with our multi-disciplinary team and medically managing and carrying out the placement and procurement of organs for transplant, medical research, and education. 


This position requires a rotating schedule of 12-hour shifts for the recovery of organs.


Job Responsibilities

  • Gather and accurately assess patient medical records and Donor Risk Assessment Interview (DRAI) to determine suitability for organ donation.
  • Recognize pathophysiological effects of brain death.
  • Medically manage organ donors to maximize the gift of donation.
  • Obtain specimens and coordinate serological and histocompatibility testing.
  • Assist with procurement, preservation, packaging, labeling, and shipment of organs.
  • Post donor chart submission for quality assurance.
  • Collaborate with Family Services and Hospital Services to increase donation.

Experience  

  • Must be a Licensed Registered Nurse, Respiratory Therapist, Paramedic/EMT, or have prior experience working as a clinical coordinator in another OPO.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an ACLS, PALS, and BLS certification.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and personal auto insurance. 
  • Capability to travel by vehicle and plane.
