Bellevue University, the largest private, non-profit University in Nebraska, is seeking a full-time faculty member to fill the Assistant Professor - Biology position in the College of Science and Technology.  This position requires a broadly trained and experienced biology professional and educator.  

 

The ideal candidate will have expertise and be able to teach in many areas of the biological sciences, including general biology, anatomy and physiology, genetics, zoology, and other biology courses.  In addition, the candidate will teach upper-level biology courses. The candidate will have enthusiasm for teaching these topics at the university level.

 

Performance Functions:

  • Enthusiastically teach across a broad spectrum of biology topics and courses, both in-class and online.
  • Actively engage with students, both in class and online, and provide constructive feedback on assignments.
  • Develop and maintain curricula in both online and classroom formats at the undergraduate level.
  • Actively participate in program assessment, student research, student advising, and committee/community service.
  • Select and manage adjunct instructors for assigned courses.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Dean, or Assistant Dean.

 

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Ph.D. in Biology or related fields. A Master’s degree in Biology combined with additional experience will be considered.
  • Experience in teaching and curriculum development at the post-secondary level across a broad and diverse spectrum of biology topics and courses.
  • A commitment to excellence in teaching and academic activities.
